Super Skinny Slim Me

I watched two BBC documentaries, Super Skinny Me and Super Slim Me on Youtube (you can go watch them too).  On one, they took two 'regular' looking sized reporter women and they five weeks to get down to a US size 0. They tried all of these crazy methods, starving themselves, colonics, overexercising... one of them reached the goal, and promptly went back to her normal life after, although she was irritable, sick and tired throughout. One of them developed an eating disorder and had to drop out. This really alarmed me because it was so dangerous!  I hope that the latter woman was really able to fix herself...she seemed kinda shaky afterward.
In the second one, they had a cute slim but not skinny reporter who also had to reach size 0 in 8 weeks. She did more investigative work and interviewing people and such, and less on actually doing the dangerous behaviors. More research, less guinea pig. Safer.  She did, however, carry out a 500 calorie a day diet. That seems insane. And throughout the whole thing, all of these size 0 women (particularly the ones she found when she went to LA for a couple weeks) told her that they all just didn't eat or didn't like to eat. I dunno...this kind of seems staged. There is a myth that skinny people don't eat. This myth hurts everyone. It hurts larger people, because they wrongly believe that if they do crazy things like eat just 500 calories a day and starve themselves and such, they will become as skinny as these other people they see in the street. Larger people are imagining this sad starved life that that women they just saw passing on the street, or that they see on the tv screen leads. Skinny girls, size 0 or other sizes are also harmed, by the misconception that they are shallow, unhealthy, weird and fixated on starving themselves.  SOMETIMES those skinny girls really do starve themselves. SOMETIMES if you're a larger girl (or guy) and you starve yourself, you can be skinny too. But not usually.  I can attest that..most skinny people arent hungry. Most skinny people eat. Anyone, skinny, fat, in the middle, will become healthier if they exercise a bit and eat healthy (healthy does not equal starvation). Healthier does not equal skinnier, skinnier doesn't equal healthier. Half those skinny people are pigging out on junkfood. Most of the other half are just living kinda healthy but normal. Some people just ARE skinny/medium/large.  Never, never starve yourself to be skinny! It won't work, you won't be healthy, and unless you're making a documentary like these three women were, it won't gain you anything.
